Here we go…
Entry with Holiday Bar Cart
One easy thing I’ve started doing to take my home décor from one holiday or season to the next is redecorating and styling my bar cart according to the current holiday, season or occasion we’re celebrating. Just revamping this little piece can be such a fun and simple way to add a little festive touch to whatever room you place it in and to ensure that the holiday spirit + celebration can easily move with you from one room to the next. To style my bar cart for Christmas, I chose to use mostly copper barware with marble accents and holiday touches like garland and greenery as well as pops of deep blue accents (the perfect color complement to copper). On the bottom rack of the cart, I placed a variety of spirits that could be used to create an assortment of festive holiday cocktails and surrounded them with antlers to add an extra Christmas touch. Placing my bar cart against a small wall in the foyer/entryway of my home was the perfect spot to ensure those festive holiday vibes were being instilled the moment you walked in the front door.
I attached a bow that I created using the same ribbon I had incorporated into the garland up the banister—which matched some of the blue décor accents around the rest of our home as well. This helped to create a consistent holiday vibe that would seamlessly flow throughout the house.

STAIRWAY
I tried to add simple holiday details throughout the house by incorporating holiday greenery into various areas. One area of focus was the stairway. I hung faux garland up the banister and added in some sprigs of real cypress greenery to give it an airy and organic draping look.
FYI: These pictures were taken long after I incorporated the live cypress (which I’ll admit is now VERY crispy)… So the garland is not looking too hot in the images, but you can at least imagine what I was going for with this look! I also began to run out of cypress greens after adding them to the first strand of garland—long before I realized I had a cypress tree in my backyard! (…currently shaking my head in embarassement…) If I had known a little earlier that I could just snip a few greens from the backyard, this garland would have looked much more lush and complete… So anyways, the banister garland never turned out quite like I had envisioned it to begin with, but I still liked the look of having garland up the stairs! I’ll just have to do better next year! 😉
I made these blue burlap bows to add a pretty pop of color to the garland and to match some of the other decorations throughout the house as well.
Attempting to add a little holiday flair to the console table under the stairs, I placed some gold, white and black ornaments that fit perfectly in my skinny wooden bowl, added a couple of these adorable white paper and wood Christmas trees that I purchased from The Rustic Touch and filled my tall textured gold vase with an assortment of festive foliage.

LIVING ROOM
The first step in getting our living room all decorated for the holidays was rearranging the furniture to fit the massive live tree that Brad insisted we buy 😉 We moved the couch that was formerly in front of the window to the far end of the room where the wicker chairs used to be, forming an L shape with the couches. We then centered the Christmas tree on the windows and swapped the wicker chairs with some smaller accent chairs that were in our office room to go on each side of the tree. (PS we scored these chairs for a whopping $20 each at the 8th Avenue Antique mall.)
Coffee Table Decor
I didn’t really go to overboard with the coffee table decor. To add a little Christmas touch to the table(s), I arranged an assortment of items within my circular basket tray, including a small brass stamped candle pot from Pottery Barn, a dark green Hearth & Hand jug vase with a mix of cypress and Christmas tree branches (again dried out at this point) and a gold geometric terrarium filled with ornaments. I added some faux greenery mixed with eucalyptus around the inside of the tray to give it a little extra festive touch. I kept my two natural wood pillar holders from Pottery Barn towards the center then at the other end of the table stacked a couple of my fave coffee table books with a natural wood bowl from the flea market on top and placed inside some wood beads I had strung together. In addition, I incorporated a few of my small gifts wrapped in craft paper with sprigs of greenery and ornaments tied with twine to the tops. These were arranged around the books to add a little holiday touch to this end of the table, and they were the perfect simple, natural holiday accents to complement the rest of the coffee table decór.

Mantle Décor
Being the newest addition to our house as well as an essential spot to cozy up next to during the holiday season, our mantle and fireplace remodel was one of the very first places that I turned my attention to when beginning to decorate for Christmas.
You can check out more pictures of my new mantle, shelves and fireplace area decorated for the holidays plus some of the holiday décor details and sources in my Modern Farmhouse Christmas Fireplace post from a few weeks ago.

Kitchen Decor
Here is just a small peek inside a few areas of our kitchen. I didn’t really do any elaborate decorating in here aside from a few festive kitchen towels, wreaths and holiday mugs (some not shown unfortunately). I started out with faux wreaths from Hobby Lobby and added in some sprigs of holiday greenery to create easy, pretty and natural looking holiday wreaths to decorate with. I gave the coffee bar a little festive and sweet holiday touch by displaying marshmallows and candy canes to add a sweet something to your hot chocolate or other warm beverage and adding a few gingerbread house figurines.
